oil broker

My friend is obsessed with making a killing by acting as an oil broker offering crude oil refineries sources of crude oil; He studied how to earn finders fees, armed with this, he set out to source both online and off line for sources of crude oil. He did this for some time only to find out that most deals he got are bogus and unrealistic till he met some supposed company agents who wasted his time for six months sending CPA. LOI, SPA etc back and forth, until he ran out of funds. Eating became a serious problem, and then he resorted to asking friends for money for transportation. Its quiet amazing the number of people easily deceived in matters of money making.

It’s very common these day to find able bodied young men walking the streets in twos and threes discussing million dollar deals, using words like SPA, LOI, CIF TTT, etc. they are supposedly oil brokers, refinery representatives or facilitators; these same group of people could also be found in eateries discussing commissions and some times, even fighting over who takes what percentages or not. Strange as this may sound, it happens and a lot of man power is spent on these unending deals; looking into the manner in which crude and refined petroleum products are sold and bought, I find it very hard to believe that an outsider has a chance of ever earning any form of income from these deals on the streets what I think is most likely to happen is that the unsuspecting oil broker like my friend will only become an agent of scammers who are always on the lookout for information on companies financial accounts and statements, without him knowing it and supplying the needed information which will be used to defraud these companies and the unofficial agent has the lest ideas of what has happened.
Now the questions these raises are why are these men and women drawn to this time wasting and dangerous venture?

- Unemployment?
- Laziness?
- Ignorance?
- Etc….
